Two weeks, many adventures!

[Oops, outdated now because I'm a terrible blogger.]

No surprise to anyone, I'm back in the Valley quite frequently. So when I was back in Los Angeles for exactly two weeks, I filled my days with fun places and made memories with my dearests. Starting with a beach trip after a day in the office with Kevin.
Low January tides!

Next up of course was morning walks through Griffith Park. Adelaide loves when we go and it tuckers her out so she sleeps pretty well after we get back. Lesley and I made a trip up as well and shared a few good laughs at Adelaide trying to be intimidating.

I had a night out in Hollywood for Taco Tuesday. The Velvet Margarita and Tekila with some celebrity stars.

Saturday was a best friends day for the books. It started with brunch in a pop-up restaurant inside an old hotel in DTLA. The most amazing drinks, atmosphere and meal! It was quite delightful. Followed by The Last Bookstore popping into art galleries. The reason for our trip downtown was the Open Broadway project. A handful of the classic theaters were opened for the people to walk through and experience the charm. They are all so beautiful and have so much character. The last one we went to has been completely gutted which was completely heartbreaking. To walk into something built in the 1930's and see nothing but concrete and ladders...tragedy, I tell ya.

A trek up to Griffith

Something iconic, something memorable, something beautiful, something close. My classic Art Deco 1920's Los Angeles apartment is in the center of Los Angeles, Koreatown/Wilshire Center to be exact. It's a prime location that puts me near Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and a plethora of lovely neighborhoods I find myself enjoying. With its proximity, and pure gorgeous environment, I have found myself the few miles away at Griffith Park with Adelaide to enjoy walks and a few pleasant hikes.

The Griffith Observatory West Trail loop is a beautiful 2.5 mile 'hike' with some classic views.

Griffith Observatory is at the top of the climb, with the Hollywood sign off to the west and the DTLA skyline off to the east.

Adelaide has made the hike like a trooper and gotten encouragement from all of the other hikers. She's always been
the smallest dog I've seen on the trail but she goes with a smile the entire way.

It's easy, it's gorgeous, and you get to be a part of something that is so classic Los Angeles! The best part? The Trails Cafe along the road that serves up a pretty marvelous dirty chai latte! Sadly, they are closed on Mondays. But it's a nice treat after you hike up the hill if it's open. The pies and scones look pretty delightful, but I have yet to indulge that far.

If you find yourself in the area and want to enjoy the outdoors, this is certainly the place to do it. Parking is even free here! Do you know how rare that is to find in Los Angeles? Take advantage of it as soon as you can, it might not stay that way forever!

Off the regular trail theres the most perfect spot to see everything quite clearly, Adelaide needed some help getting down but she enjoyed the view it seems.
